Why It’s Okay To Say No

Looking back on my life I realized that I gave and did too much for others. I put everyone and everything above my own needs, wants and desires. A lot of people in my life took advantage of me because of that.

Always doing everything for others and never for myself wasn’t a healthy mindset to have and it allowed me to get hurt physically, mentally and emotionally. I needed to say no, even if it made the people in my life upset. I needed to stand up for myself and take care of me for a change.

Once I realized how important it was to say no and to take care of myself, I made some changes in my life. I said no to the people that asked me to do things that would hinder me. I said no to the people that would ask me to do ridiculous things for them. I said no to the people that always took from me but would never give anything in return. I said no to the people who didn’t have an ounce of respect for me. Most importantly, I said no to the people that were taking advantage of me and I will still choose to say no to this day.

We are each only one person and we can only handle so much at a time. We can only take so much mistreatment from people before we bend or break. We have to take care of ourselves because, let’s just be honest, no one is there for you like you’re there for yourself. I encourage you to step out, be brave and just say NO!

WE DESERVE BETTER!

WE CAN FIND OUR PEACE!
