Different seasons can be exciting for people but they can be triggering too.
You may find that during Spring and Summer you are at your best! Or if you’re anything like me, Spring and Summer put you at your worst.
Whichever it is for you, I understand the anxiety of what a new season can bring.
You find every day to be challenging and the anxiety gets worse when you realize the new season just started and you have three whole months of it.
Take it one step at a time. One day at a time. Some days, an hour at a time.
Find the things that you do like and can only do in that season.
Use your coping skills and even reach out to a therapist or a friend.
Bring comfort to yourself in any way you possibly can.
Spring and Summer are the worst for me. They were always a time of year where the abuse was worse to say the least.
It was a time where I never saw my dad due to his job and was stuck with my abusive mother and her son.
Because of that my brain associates warmth with trauma. It’s a constant battle and a cycle that I fight so desperately to break.
So I encourage you and myself, we can do this. We will make it and we will survive just like every year.
