Holidays bring a lot of joy and happiness to people and their lives. But, for some people, it’s not always that way. It can be more of a difficult time for them that brings them sadness.
Holidays can be a triggering time for people. It can bring up old wounds and memories. Some of us have lost loved ones at the holidays, or our loved ones are no longer here with us. Or relationships are not what they once were, and loneliness sets in because your mind is flooded with the good holiday memories that no longer exist.
If that’s you, just know it’s okay. It’s okay to feel all these feelings and emotions that you are feeling at the holidays. Don’t hold those feelings in. Talk about them. Then, try to find something positive about the holidays, do something that brings you joy. Because you deserve happiness, love, joy, peace and comfort. Not just at the holidays but every day.
