Do It Crappy

I heard something on Instagram about a year ago that I will never forget, “Do It Crappy.” It has stuck with me every day since. I cannot remember the account to give credit, but it’s something that I apply to my life daily.

The video was about working out and it stated that even if you don’t feel like you can do something, just do it crappy. It didn’t have to be the best workout or even a long one, just something. The only thing that mattered was that you were trying and actually doing it.

I took that advice and used it not only for my workout but for my mental health.

Time to get out of bed but too depressed and tired? Do it crappy. Get up hair looking a mess, move to couch or different room.

House is a mess but too overwhelmed to even know where to start? Grab the first thing in front of you and go put it away. Do it crappy.

Laundry overflowing? One load is better than no load. Don’t feel like folding it? Do it crappy. Just half fold it.

Dishes overflowing in sink? Start with loading or washing all the cups first. DO IT CRAPPY!

Not everything can be done all at once in life or even done perfectly like how we want it to be, which sucks. In our minds we set all these expectations for ourselves and then get disappointed when none of them get accomplished.

Doing something crappy is better than not doing anything at all. Then before we know it, we are moving onto the next task and the next and so on. We will have this sense of accomplishment that will help us mentally, physically and emotionally.

I know how draining mental illnesses are. But we have to help ourselves to the best of our ability in order to cope, heal, and move forward. I am proud of you and all that you have accomplished. You have come so far and are doing great! Keep up all the hard work.

As Always,

You Deserve Peace

You Are Not Your Diagnosis

You Deserve Peace
