Baby Steps

We know where we are, and we may know where we want to be. Whether that’s completing a goal, working towards a new career, or being on the other side of healing from trauma. These goals may seem so far away, or maybe out of reach entirely and that can be very frustrating.


We want these accomplishments to happen immediately because, how much easier would that be? Am I right?


So many times, have I wished I could just snap my fingers and reach that goal. Then I would be where I wanted and needed in life. But it doesn’t work that way.


Something that took me a while to learn that I STILL have to remind myself of is, “ Baby Steps.”


Baby steps are key to your healing journey and recovery. They may look small at times but in reality they are huge!


If we were to jump to the next thing instead of taking it slow we could miss quite a few things along the road.


It’s better to take it slow than to rush to jump back and start over again.


When you feel overwhelmed, like you aren’t where you want to be, remind yourself, “Baby Steps.” Just repeat it a few times and remind yourself that you will indeed get to where you want to be.
