Sometimes, it’s really hard to recognize all the progress we have made and all the accomplishments we have achieved. It is so easy to overlook our progress when our brain is focused on all the negative, that it overshadows all the positivities.
I know how hard it is to look for good in a situation that feels so bad. You feel as if no matter how much progress you make it is simply not enough. But let me be the one to tell you that isn’t true. It is enough.
Even the tiniest bit of progress is a huge accomplishment. You were able to accomplish something even after all the hurt, trauma and abuse that you have been through. That’s a big deal, a HUGE deal! And we both know it wasn’t easy and it hasn’t been easy. But that’s okay.
Choose to celebrate your accomplishments. Allow yourself to celebrate the accomplishments, because you worked your butt off to get to that point. No one else did except you. And I am so proud of you for that!
When you feel like you are stuck or you just feel all the negative weighing you down grab a pen and paper and start making a list of everything you have accomplished. Read each and every single one out loud. Then say the words, “I am proud of myself.” Seriously, tell yourself that. You more than deserve to hear it, especially from yourself because you are the one that put in all that hard work and effort.
